East Africa Itinerary
The Private Wilderness Retreat
About This Journey
This is not a programme. It is a setting, and a team, and an invitation to use them however you wish. A private lodge or camp reserved exclusively for you. A guide whose only brief is your experience. Meals wherever the landscape suggests. Days that begin when you wake and end when the fire burns low. Africa at its most intimate — with nothing between you and the wilderness except the careful attention of people who know it deeply.
What This Journey Holds
- Exclusive-use accommodation at a private lodge or tented camp — yours alone
- A dedicated guide and vehicle, with no sharing and no fixed schedule
- Private dining in the bush: a table set in the wilderness at sunset, no other guests
- Star beds: sleep under an open African sky, surrounded by sounds and silence
- A custom experience built entirely around what you want from the time
Day by Day
Day 1:Arrival & First Evening
Arrive at your private lodge by light aircraft or private vehicle transfer. Your team is waiting — guide, host, and the small staff who will look after you quietly and entirely. An evening by the fire, a first dinner under the stars, and the sound of the bush settling around you.
Day 2:Your Days Begin Here
There is no agenda. Your guide has suggested some possibilities based on what you told us you wanted — a morning walk, an afternoon on the water, a long game drive through country nobody else is visiting. Or simply this: coffee at dawn on the deck, watching the world come to life, in no hurry at all.
Day 3:Into the Wilderness
A full day away from the lodge if you wish it. A bush breakfast packed in a cool box, your guide reading the landscape, a walking track that takes you deep into the reserve. Lunch in the shade of an acacia. An afternoon watching a waterhole from a ground-level hide. Sundowners wherever the light is best.
Day 4:Private Bush Dinner
Your guide has found a place — a riverbank, a clearing, a kopje with a view that stretches without boundary. A table is set. Candles. Your private chef. The sounds of the African night begin just as the first course arrives. This is the kind of evening that becomes the one you try to describe when you are home and cannot quite.
Day 5:Final Morning
The last morning is always the clearest. You notice everything you have been collecting all week — the calls you now recognise, the animals whose patterns you have begun to understand, the particular quality of light at this hour in this place. A slow breakfast. A long goodbye. The journey home.
